Town Hall Meeting: OMO will hold a Town Hall Meeting (THM) this Fall in
NYC. The goal will be to foster a greater understanding of the importance of
multicultural coalition building within the Caribbean community starting in
NYC. The purpose will be to present OMO methodology of consensus building and
ascertain community needs as related to issues of health disparities (THM
specifics coming soon)

Plans Midwest Regional Multicultural Workshop in Indiana:
The goal of the workshop will be to increase the capacity of CBOs, regional/state
administrators and the health care delivery system in and around Indianapolis,
to build bridges between ethnic communities and find areas of convergence so
as to develop joint plans of action to increase access and provide more cultural
competent health care services for all ethnic communities in this region (workshop
details coming soon)
OMO
will host an Institutional Review Board Workshop in San Francisco December 2002:
The purpose of the workshop is to establish increased minority participation
in Community Institutional Review Boards. The workshop will re-enforce the importance
of promoting the discussion of ethical, regulatory and policy concerns surrounding
research and to create an atmosphere for open and respectful conversation about
issues of mutual interest (workshop details coming soon)
